Whether you're seeking to be licensed and employed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN), a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the provisions of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act (225 ILCS 65/5-23) or a Licensed Physician under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 (225 ILCS 60), the Act (the law) requires you to be fingerprinted and undergo a criminal background check to obtain licensure. Fingerprinting must be performed first. We will capture your fingerprints and transmit them to the Illinois State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You will receive a Transaction Control Number (TCN) to use for your submission of application to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
